Companions,
Springfield Chapter No. 1 will host a Chapter Leadership Seminar on Saturday,
February 11, 2012. Their address is 1020 Rickard Road, Springfield, IL 62704.
The hours for the seminar will be from 9:00 a.m. to Noon and there will be
coffee and doughnuts available before the seminar.
Our Most Excellent Grand High Priest Dale P. Cyrier will be present along with
some of the other Grand Chapter Officers. It will be a great time for
fellowship and an opportunity to ask questions that may have been on your minds
for some time. Our hope is that Chapter Officers in the central part of the
state will be available and will attend this seminar. We anticipate holding
additional seminars in the northern and southern parts of Illinois in order to
reach those Companions.
Some of the topics that we will cover will be a definition of leadership, duties
of Chapter Officers, how to secure petitions, highlights of some of the things
the Chapter Secretaries need to know, and some ritual instruction and practice.
We realize that not all of our Chapters have ritual instruction available to
them so we thought this was a good time to review the proper way to Open, go
from Labor to Refreshment and from Refreshment to Labor, Receive the DDGHP,
Receive the MEGHP, and Close.
Talk with the Officers of your Chapter and see if you can get a car load to
attend. It makes the time spent on the road much more enjoyable if you have
someone to visit with.
We certainly hope to have a good attendance at this seminar. I’ve requested
good weather that day so all of us who will be traveling there will be able to
benefit from that. Only time will tell if my request gets filled!
